Designer, Developer, Maker of things...

I have a background in digital design, and several years’ experience in news and editorial, working for organisations such as The Times, BBC, The Telegraph and Channel 4 News. Currently I offer creative front-end development and design consultancy for branding and digital studios, both in the UK and internationally.

My specialisms are styling/layout systems, patterns and component libraries, navigation, animation and responsive layout. Favourite tools include: Craft, Wordpress, SASS, Tailwind, jQuery, Vue JS, Git, Gulp, and Webpack. I’m intrigued by the intersection of design and engineering and I’m always working to bridge that gap between disciplines.

The Bodgenator

Product

The Bodgenator is a script for Adobe Illustrator that exports a rough HTML layout from layers, to act as a foundation for a rapid prototype.

I wrote this for myself (as an interface designer), on the basis that I was keen to use my preferred tools – Illustrator, and raw HTML/CSS/JS – to prototype in the leanest way possible, without investing time in a tool like Quartz Composer or Axure, that has its own 'world' that locks you in.
